LIVE PURPOSEFULLY

Live a Life of Purpose

Over the lessons, you have been increasing your consciousness and living and leading more purposefully. You have been experimenting with the guiding power of your One Decision, the practical power of principles to unlock the satisfaction available in every moment and every circumstance, and the power of the Four Loving Truths. You have been using potent consciousness tools such as living purposefully, catching the yearning under your soft addictions, and using the map of the developmental levels to understand yourself and to shift to create more value in your life—all of which help you live purposefully and in alignment with your values. Now, as you come to your final lesson in the Year of More quarter Purposeful Living and Leadership, you can use your disciplines as a way to support your completion.

You delve into what truly matters in your life and consciously choose the life you live. You find ways to be closer to yourself, others, higher principles, your higher self, and what holds the highest value for you. Knowing yourself and exploring your beliefs—both personal and professional—provides a greater sense of purpose and meaning and leaves you feeling more satisfied, willing to be curious, to seek, and to engage in creating your own destiny and life path—your Life Quest.

This week is designed to help you discover where you used the principles, your One Decision, the Developmental Model, and your purpose in your life to make a difference in how you experienced each and every day—and the impact you have on others.

Our ultimate goal in these lessons has been for you to live purposefully and to enhance all aspects of your life. You have been learning to live more consciously, applying the transformational principles (of aliveness, engaging, intention, as well as truth, commitment, and responsibility), which lead to the transcendental principles of love and compassion. You have been creating your reality with intent, and by asserting your will in consonance with your purpose and higher principles.

When in doubt, live a principle—when things are great, live a principle—every moment, live a principle! Principles are the source of everything. Without aliveness, there is no life. Play is the principle of interactions that causes us to be nourished and to grow. Truth is the principle that allows us to live our quest in everything we do. It’s only when we live the transformational principles that we can fully experience the transcendental principles of love and compassion.

Your assignments this month are designed to help you practice principled living

Live a Life of Purpose: Integrate the Lessons

Main Assignment

This week, your assignment is to raise your consciousness! Make as many conscious choices as you can this week, and focus on raising your consciousness. The more you are in touch with your feelings and your yearnings, the more conscious you are. The less you indulge in your soft addictions, the more conscious you are. The more you use the tools of the quarter so far (principles, purpose, One Decision, the Four Loving Truths, identifying your yearning, etc.), the more conscious you are.

Track your state of consciousness and awareness and make choices to be more and more open, awake, aware, and engaged in as many ways as possible. Use the Engagement Continuum to guide and mark your state of consciousness. Use the Developmental Model, which is a model of consciousness, to map your level of consciousness and development. Be aware of your feelings and what you truly yearn for.

The more conscious you are, the more you’ll be in touch with your feelings and yearnings. The more engaged you are, the more conscious you are; and the more conscious you are, the more engaged you are. Your consciousness shifts your thoughts, feelings, and actions; and your thoughts, feelings, and actions shift your consciousness.

Very-Able Assignments

Share the Gifts of Your Learning and Growing

Be a ‘Living Essay. ’ Share the gift of your experience, what you have learned, and how you have grown this quarter. Invite others to ‘have what you are having!’ Engage in meaningful conversations with others and invite them on the journey to live more purposefully and to fulfill their potential.

Very-Able Assignments are designed to support you with your main assignment and/or to deepen the assignment. You can focus on one a day, or experiment with each or any or many of them to experience different aspects of your assignment.

Review Your Quarter and Write Your Essay

Review your quarter and write an essay to glean your experiences, the impact in your life, your learns and grows, challenges and gaps, and future directions. Reflect on all of your experiences from the quarter.

Reflect on your weekly assignments and your Purposeful Leadership Process and discuss things like: What is your vision for living more purposefully in your life, your relationships, your career, your leadership? What is your vision for yourself as a purposeful being who is alive, engaged, playful, and intentional? Living with empowering beliefs like the Four Loving Truths? What is your vision for the quality of your life, guided by principles, purposeful living, and your One Decision? What might it take for you to live into that vision? What do you need to do become the person in your vision?

Put Purpose in Your Current Disciplines

Be aware of what you do to orient toward deadness rather than aliveness. What activities, ways of being, thinking, or situations seem to “kill” your aliveness, or make you less present? Note your soft addictions, zoning out, and stinking thinking that deaden you. Be aware of when you are numb, buzzed, foggy, out of it, in a trance. It is hard to “be aware” of when you are “numb, foggy, or in a trance” that’s the whole point! Well, catch it after the fact and track it back. See how easy it is for you to go “dead” as a default rather than “alive”. See how often you can switch back to aliveness when you have started to go toward deadness.
